One of my favorite things to do on any island with my daughter Grace is check out the local Farmers Market because this is where you’ll find the best local treats, from dim sum to malasadas and poi in every form. Keep an eye out for the long lines and plan accordingly — especially for the hand-pulled noodles, they are worth the wait. If you need a primer on what’s what, take a look at Laurie Lyons-Makaimoku’s glossary of Hawaiian cuisine. Local tip: shop here for unique treats to bring home.
